February 2025

While this chilly weather might tempt you to curl up at home with a good book—perhaps The Lonely Hearts Book Club by Lucy Gilmore—we hope you'll venture out to join us for some of the wonderful events we have planned for February!

A huge thank you to our incredible activity chairs for curating these fun events we all look forward to! As always, we're eager to hear your feedback, so if you have any ideas or suggestions for future events, please don’t hesitate to share.

Looking ahead to spring, we have many beloved NNT events returning, including our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Touch-a-Truck, perfect for the whole family! And with warmer weather comes our biggest celebration of the year: Spring Fling!

NNT thrives because of its amazing members, and that includes you! As we look toward the future, we’re currently recruiting for next year's Board and Activity Chairs. These positions require only a small time commitment but offer a rewarding opportunity to build closer friendships while helping shape the success of our club. If you're interested in getting involved, please let us know. And as always, please spread the word about NNT to new friends and neighbors!

Happy New Year!

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday season and are getting back into your routines of work and/or school. First I would like to say a huge thank you for the generosity of all of our members who donated holiday gifts to the Medway Family Shelter (and of course to our amazing Community Engagement Chair Eliza for coordinating everything)! This is such a special NNT tradition to give back to our community.

If you didn't make it to any events in 2024 try to come to something in the new year! Bring a friend, a partner, or come by yourself! Also please feel free to use the members only Facebook group for impromptu meet ups! Heading to Hospital Hill to sled or hear about a fun community event? Share it with the group!

Interested in getting more involved in New 'n Towne? Joining the board is a great way to meet people and build stronger connections! Have an idea for an event you'd like NNT to do? Tell us about it! We'd love to help make it happen. We're always open to suggestions on how to make NNT meet the needs of our members. Send us an email!

Happy December!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

December is a busy month for us all, and New 'n Towne is no different, with a calendar packed with exciting events for the whole family! In addition to our usual monthly events, we are also thrilled to bring back our annual gift drive for the Medway House Family Shelter, Pajama Party, and Secret Snowflake. This holiday season, we’re reminded of the warmth of community and the spirit of togetherness that has made this year and this town truly special. Whether it was sharing a laugh at an event, meeting new friends, or exploring Medfield, we’ve been so grateful to have you all with us.

As I look ahead to the New Year, I'm excited for even more fun, adventures, and opportunities to make lasting memories. Thank you for being part of this wonderful group – here’s to a bright and beautiful year ahead, filled with new friends, shared experiences, and even more joy!

September 2024

Hello All!

I am very excited to welcome you to the New 'n Towne 2024-2025 season! We are hitting the ground running with a full board and tons of fun activities in September! Every Fall, we welcome new members at the Newcomers Social and welcome all members to the Welcome Back BBQ. These are both great events to meet other members and have some fun! New 'N Towne will also have a booth at Discover Medfield Day on September 28th, so make sure to come visit us at Booth 108 near the entrance to Kid's Alley in the Montrose Parking Lot.

Our monthly activities will also start back up this month. The activity chairs have been hard at work planning fun for the whole family from pub night, book club, girls night out, family meetups, couples night out and more!

This newsletter will go out once a month highlighting all upcoming events as well as highlighting some non-New 'N Towne events in the community. If you are on social media, feel free to join the members only Facebook Group: Medfield NNT Members or follow us on Instagram: medfield_nnt.

Fall is membership renewal season! To ensure you keep receiving invites and the newsletter, don't forget to renew your membership on our website. If you joined New 'n Towne over the summer, no need to renew. For any new member that signed up or renewed their membership after April 1st, those dues will be applied to the 2024-2025 season.

I look forward to working with the board and activity chairs to continue planning great events for all ages! Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or ideas you have!

June 2024

Hello All!

This will be my last newsletter as we will begin transitioning leadership later this month. I am excited to announce that Libby Eisenman has been nominated as President for the 2024-2025 season. Libby moved to town in 2020 and has been a member of New ‘n Towne for four years. She was an integral part of the Board this past year serving as the VP of Social last year. I am very excited to work with Libby during this transition and I very much look forward to watching her succeed in her new role!

Just as on overview every year we vote on the next year’s board positions. This vote will happen at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday June 12th. All members are invited and encouraged to attend. Board positions are 1 year terms, with many individuals volunteering to stay on for additional terms. The Board will transition at the end of this month. The President serves a 1 year term; I will transition into the Parliamentarian role and stay on the Board in an advisory capacity for an additional year. With all of the summer vacations, the Activity Chairs are not expected to offer monthly events, and New ‘n Towne takes a short break. That said, there still might be an occasional event, such as Book Club or the summer concert. You can always take advantage of the members only Facebook group to post a date and time for a spontaneous meet-up at the park/pool/pond, etc.

In the Fall, families will be asked to renew their dues. Dues are $40 and go towards subsidizing the cost of events. Anyone that has joined on or after April 1, 2024 will be grandfathered in to the 2024-2025 season. Through dues and fundraising efforts such as Touch-a-Truck, New ‘n Towne was able to donate $3,500 back to the Medfield community this year. I wanted to let you know where that money is going. The Board voted and approved the following transactions. Each year, New ‘n Towne awards 2, $500 scholarships to two high school seniors who have a history of service to the betterment of the Medfield community, an established record of community service throughout high school and an excellent academic record. This year's recipients are Tomiwa (Tommy) Ojuolape  and Julian Ram-Tylerbest .  The following groups received a $250 donation: Medfield Animal Shelter, Medfield Food Cupboard, Medfield Foundation, Medfield Foundation: Medfield Coalition for Suicide Prevention, Medfield Public Library, MCPE, Public Safety, Medfield Farmer's Market and Medfield K-8 PTO.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Board members and Activity Chairs for all of their hard work this season. These individuals are who make New 'n Towne what it is - they have kept our calendar busy with a variety of events. We have a few individuals rolling off of the Board this year and I wanted to especially thank them for everything they have done for the organization over the years. They have volunteered their time to lead events and help bring people together. Thank you to Jen Orlando, Megan MacDonald,  Natalie Tordiglione, Kate Scuderi and Med Cabezud. I also want to thank you, the members, for being engaged and attending the events and sharing the word about New 'n Towne. While the Board does have a playbook of 'tried and true' events, we are always looking for ways to improve so feel free to reach out with any ideas you might have. This club is for you, so we want to make sure that you are getting the most out of it!

THANK YOU! I hope to see you around town!

We also have our Spring Fling planned. This event is at The Lockheart Restaurant in Wellesley at 7pm on May 18th. Tickets will go on sale April 6th so make sure you get your tickets as this event will have to be capped because the restaurant has a certain capacity.

February 2024

Happy February!

February is a month I look forward to as it seems like we are getting more daylight and it is not quite so dark in the morning. This month some people call the month of love. This is always a nice theme for the month. Please bring the love when you go to any and all events for New n' Towne.

This month we are only doing three events because many kids have February break and families will be traveling.
Galentine's is sure to be a fun girls' night out! Guys' night will be at Top Golf which is sure to book up quickly. Lastly we have book club to end the month. They are reading a great book called Hidden Figures.

Please keep spreading the news about membership! Also this is the time of the year where we begin to look for new people who would like to get involved in New 'n Towne. Please reach out if you would like to get involved or just attend a board meeting to see what it is all about.

Spring Fling will be here before we know it! Keep an eye out for the date! This is always a fun way to end the year!

January 2024

Happy New Year!

What a nice way to start the 2024 year with a snow storm. I feel like I can now officially say winter is here. My favorite part of the snow is looking out my window and seeing the trees covered in the snow.

Our activity chairs have planned some fun events for the month of January. We hope if you haven't made it to an event in 2023 that maybe you try to make it to one in 2024. Bring a friend! Go by yourself! Either is fine!

I like to spread the word about Spring Fling early. This event is a great one to attend and it will be our last big event before we depart on summer break. Please keep a look out for this date. It is always a fun event!

Warm regards,

September 2023

I am very excited to welcome you to the New 'n Towne 2023-2024 season! New n' Towne holds a very special place in my heart. It is where I met, and continue to meet, many of my friends in town. It is a place where I have always felt welcomed.  I hope through this group you can get more acquainted with Medfield and meet some friends for a lifetime.

I am very excited to be the new President. This year we have all board positions filled which we haven't had in a couple of years. That said, we are always looking for help with our events so please reach out if you would like to get involved. Also, if you have any ideas we are always looking for new activities to put on our event calendar. We encourage members to come to a board meeting if you want to know more about what is happening behind the scenes.

We are excited about our updated website which are further revamping. Please check our website for more information about New n' Towne. This newsletter will go out once a month. It will highlight all upcoming events that are planned. We will link Evites in here as well. If you are on social media, feel free to join the members only Facebook Group: Medfield NNT Members or follow us on Instagram: medfield_nnt.

To ensure you keep receiving the invites and the newsletter, don't forget to renew your membership on our website. We now take Venmo. If you joined New 'n Towne over the summer, no need to renew. For any new member that signed up or renewed their membership after May 31st, those dues will be applied to the 2023-2024 season. Dues for the year will be $40.

I look forward to meeting you at an event this year and getting to know you!

This will be my last newsletter as we will begin transitioning leadership later this month. I am excited to announce that Kristin Kaye has been nominated as President for the 2023-2024 season. I am very appreciative of her guidance throughout my tenure! I also want to thank you, the members, for being engaged and attending the events and sharing the word about New 'n Towne. May 2023

For newer members, you may not know that the New 'n Towne season begins to slow down come June. While we may have an occasional event over the summer, the summer months are a time to transition leadership roles and plan for the next season. That said, we have a VERY BUSY May planned for you - the board has been working hard to bring you events geared towards all ages!

Spring Fling ticket sales will close first thing Monday morning. If you are planning to go, grab your tickets now as we need to provide the final menu and head count to the Kingsbury on Monday.

Touch-a-Truck is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. The funds raised go back to the community in the form of scholarships to High School seniors and grants to local businesses. The event is Saturday 5/13 from 11:30am - 1:30pm. There will also be food trucks since it spans the lunch hour -  a BBQ truck and an ice cream truck.

In June, we will have our annual meeting. It is open to all members. We will have guest speakers from the community and vote in the next board. Once we have the date for this event, I will send an invite. There are still a few positions open for next year's board and activity chairs, please reach out to learn more about how you might get involved.

I hope to see you at an upcoming event. If we have not yet met, please feel free to introduce yourself. As always, reach out with any questions.

Kate Scuderi
President, New ‘n Towne

February 2023

I wanted to start out by thanking all of the board members and activity chairs as they keep our New 'n Towne calendar busy with thoughtful and exciting events for us all! I hope that everyone is finding events that appeal to them and work with their schedules. If you have any ideas for future events, please reach out!

The New 'n Towne board is excited to announce that some of our staple springtime events are scheduled for this season - Egg Hunt on Saturday 4/8, Spring Fling on Saturday 5/6 and Touch-A-Truck. We are also excited to bring back Couples Night Out and Bunco.

In the coming weeks and months we will begin recruiting for open board positions. If you are interested in learning more about what board positions and activity chairs we have open, please reach out to either Meg Cabezud or myself. Joining the board shortly after moving to Medfield was a great way for me to get to know and meet a wonderful group of friends.

Stay warm, and hope to see you soon!

President, New ‘n Towne

January 2023

Happy New Year! I hope you and your families had a great holiday season!

The board is excited to share with you the date of the Spring Fling: Saturday, May 6th. Please save the date and book those babysitters now (if needed). For those that are not familiar with the Spring Fling, it is our biggest adult only event of the season. Ticket sales will start in April.

The board is also committed to adding more Couples Night Out events in the coming months. We are always looking for couples to help host game nights, driveway drinks, etc. Please reach out if you are interested in hosting or if you have any ideas for events.

Lastly, I wanted to share a way you can utilize the members only Facebook group. Feel free to post spontaneous meet ups on there. For example, if you are heading to Hospital Hill to go sledding, taking your dog for a walk at the state hospital, or taking the kids to Hinkley Park - you can post when and where you will be there if you want others to join.

Looking forward to a great second half of the New 'n Towne season!
